Private Party Job Board
Household jobs posted in the Private Party Job Board will be made available to our students. Students/alum will then contact employers if they have an interest in the opportunity. Jobs will remain posted for 14 days or until we are otherwise notified.

Internships are made available to students through Handshake, a recruitment and career planning software. To learn more about Handshake and post an opportunity, visit the Handshake Resource Center for useful articles on Getting Started, Managing User Settings, Understanding Privacy Settings, and much more! With Handshake you can:
- Post internships, part- or full time jobs
- Search for qualified applicants and directly message students
- Schedule on-campus interviews with students

Employer Internship Guide
Develop Scope of Work
Establish a balance of work between the intern’s learning goals and specific work you need done. An internship should include learning objectives, observation, reflection, evaluation, and assessment.
Paid vs. Unpaid
Before making the decision to offer an unpaid internship, take time to understand the U.S. Department of Labor guidelines regarding unpaid internships. Paying interns provides your organization legal protections.
Post on Handshake and Schedule On-Campus Visits
You can post your opportunity on Handshake 24/7 and your internship will be featured for students who fit your listed qualifications and skills. You can register for an upcoming career fair in Handshake or schedule a recruiting visit anytime by contacting us at recruit@messianicfamilyfellowship.com.
Agreements
Once you’ve identified an intern, the student will launch an Applied Learning Agreement Form (ALAF) online and your organization’s site supervisor will approve the internship by electronically agreeing to the terms and submitting the form.
Credits & Hours
Students may work as few as 3 or as many as 20 hours per week and may earn anywhere from 1 to 8 units for their experience, depending upon the program they are involved in.
Site Visit & Student Evaluation
A Westmont faculty or staff member may conduct a site visit during the internship term. Near the end of the internship the internship site supervisor will be asked to provide an evaluation of their performance.

JOB & INTERNSHIP POSTING POLICY

Westmont College approves job or internship postings that support students in their professional development before and after graduation, including:
- Internships that are paid or offer academic credit (in keeping with U.S. Department of Labor guidelines regarding unpaid internships)
- Part-time roles in the Santa Barbara area
Full-time roles for bachelor-level graduates
Westmont College does not approve job or internship postings that:
- Require an initial investment by the student or involve a student paying for a service or experience.
- Are paid commission only. Sales jobs must include a published base salary plus anticipated commission range.
- Require a student to represent a commercial enterprise or act as an organization’s ambassador on the college’s campus.
- Involve network marketing, pyramid selling, referral marketing, or Multi-level Marketing (MLM) companies.
- May require students to work with content or in settings that do not align with Westmont's values as an institution.
- Are deemed unsuitable or otherwise inappropriate for our students at the College's sole discretion.

Recruiting Opportunities at Westmont
Career Café
Career Café provides a venue for casual conversations where students and a select number of employers can interact about your industry and job or internship opportunities.
Career Cafés are typically held 5:30-7:00 pm in the fall and spring semesters. Employer reservations are on a first come, first served basis. A $300 employer sponsorship fee includes refreshments and marketing related to each event.
